Scared to Death Films is an American, Florida-based independent horror film production company spearheaded by the "head of the undead", the "master of the macabre", the "matador of mayhem"... Mark Francis. Mark is an award-winning horror author, internationally award-winning horror actor, director, producer and screenwriter. Coming from a long career in the music business, Mark has been active in the film industry for over 25 years. He has played everything from background roles, featured background, supporting and lead roles and everything in between. He has served as 1rst assistant director, sound engineer, script supervisor, co-producer and executive producer on movies.

Mark has worked on sets in the last few years with some of the best and most respected directors in Hollywood history such as Damian Chazelle; the Russo Brothers; Skaka King; and Martin Scorsese and watched and learned what works and what doesn't. What problems arise when making a movie and how to fix them the best way in order to stay true to the story. Mark brings a coffin load of experience and talent to the mix.

The goal of Scared to Death Films is to do just that.. scare the living shit out of you! We aim to produce high quality independent horror films that will titilate some and shock others! Quality films with a focus on great stories.

Do we really need more insane killer clowns shooting up people at a hot dog stand with a machine gun? Where did he get it... at a sporting goods store brand new with a box and a warranty? Do we really need more buffoons ripping out victim's eyeballs and eating them for no reason at all? We saw that in the "Evil Dead 2" back in '82. And that's supposed to be "controversial?" We think it's pretty silly and pretty cliche. The story has to make sense to the viewer. That's what makes a great movie instead of a good movie.. the story. Horror movie fans aren't stupid and we're all getting a little tired of the silly cliches and absurd storylines. If we didn't believe we could make better movies than that, we would quit right now! You, the horror movie fan should demand better. You deserve better. And we're going to deliver it.

What did legendary Hollywood producer and director Roger Corman say when he appearerd at the Joe Bob Briggs Drive-in Jamboree in Las Vegas in October of 2023: "Low budget does not have to mean low quality. If you have a great story and great actors you can make a great movie in your own backyard." And did he ever... over 700 films all privately financed by himself.

We have got some great scripts, some great actors, and a great crew. Let's make some great movies! Serious, scary films without the campy, juvenile "make you laugh every 20 seconds" mantra of so many modern "horror comedies" that are all too common these days. You'll never see Scared to Death Films produce a horror comedy under any circumstances, for any reason. There's nothing funny about a madman chasing a teenage cheesecake down a dark alley to her doom. There's nothing funny about a mythical forest monster rippng some hiker's arm off.

Mark says this: "I'm not interested in making you laugh, I'm interested in making you pee your pants."
